Why is Summer the ideal motivational speaker for middle school students?
As a middle school student, I dealt with low self-esteem and bullying. From insecurities about my bucked teeth to the “I Hate Summer Club”, I would have rather stayed home than go to school. I had issues with making friends, and I didn’t understand my changing body. I had acne and even stretch marks which made bullying even worse. I felt like an ugly outsider both at school and at home. My insecurities went into high school where I made some bad choices because I didn’t feel pretty, liked, or good enough.
As a motivational speaker, I show middle school students how to deal with their challenges and love themselves no matter what others say. My openness about my own insecurities makes students comfortable with sharing theirs. I talk openly and honestly about the tough stuff including bullying, body image, as well as relationships, sex, teen pregnancy, and STD’s.
I support the educators, parents, and guardians who work tirelessly to instill the lessons our youth need to make it. I give youth new perspective and appreciation as well as practical advice and life skills. Gaining a greater understanding of who they are and what they can be, identifying their support systems, and finding their own motivation, students learn to persevere through the challenging life situations they face daily.
My goal Is to help parents and educators get middle school students mentally, emotionally, and academically prepared for their high school journeys as they begin to transition to young adults.
