When I heard the words, “You have breast cancer,” I took a deep breath and went straight to the mindset that has carried me through every obstacle of my life: S.O. What! My next words were, “So NOW what?”
It wasn’t denial. It wasn’t avoidance. It was my declaration that this diagnosis would not control me. Just like teen motherhood didn’t stop me. Just like setbacks in my career didn’t stop me. Just like every fear I’ve faced before. This, too, would not stop me.
I chose peace. I chose faith. I chose resilience.
Finding Strength in the Hardest Season
The truth is, cancer is scary. Treatments are exhausting. The unknown is heavy. The financial burden is crazy. But I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about pretending you’re not afraid. It’s about choosing courage anyway.
I shared more about those first moments of my diagnosis in this video: My Breast Cancer Story: S.O. What! Now What?
It was raw. It was real. And it was me living my message in real time.
From the beginning, I knew I wanted to do more than just get through this. I wanted to use it. To shine a light for others who might one day sit where I sat. That’s when the idea for the S.O. What! Breast Cancer Awareness Hoodie came to life.
Why the S.O. What! Breast Cancer Awareness Hoodie Matters
This hoodie isn’t just clothing. It’s courage you can wear. It’s a declaration that no diagnosis, no loss, no hardship gets the final word.
I’m known for my S.O. What! hoodies that encourage people to live resilient lives. But this version, designed for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is personal. It’s a special pink for awareness with the bold message of resilience that has defined my life.
When you wear it, you’re not just supporting me—you’re stepping into a movement. A movement that says, Yes, cancer sucks. Yes, life is hard. But S.O. What! I am stronger.
Awareness Beyond the Ribbon
As I prepare to begin radiation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m reminded that awareness is more than pink ribbons and slogans. It’s about real stories. Real women. Real families.
I shared some of the behind-the-scenes of this journey here:
My first Breast Cancer Consultation
Pre-Op Before a Partial Mastecomy
Surgery Day-Fighting Breast Cancer With Resilience
These videos are my heart. They’re not polished speeches. They’re just me fighting, sharing, believing, and choosing joy in the middle of it all.
A Message for All of Us
This hoodie may have been born from my fight with breast cancer, but the message is for everyone. Because we all have battles. Some are seen, like mine. Others are invisible life grief, financial struggles, broken dreams, or even silent battles with self-worth.
That’s why I believe so deeply in resilience. I talk about it in this video on hope and healing
and in this reflection on choosing strength. Resilience is not just something I teach—it’s something I live, every single day.
And my prayer is that when you put on this hoodie, you feel that strength too.
Join Me
Cancer changed my life, but it did not take my power. If anything, it gave me another opportunity to prove the truth I’ve been living and teaching for years: challenges don’t define us. Our response does.
So whatever you’re facing right now, I hope you’ll stand with me. Say it out loud. Whisper it if you have to. Wear it boldly if you’re ready: S.O. What! Now what?
The S.O. What! Breast Cancer Awareness Hoodie is more than fabric. It’s resilience wrapped in cotton. It’s community. It’s hope. And it’s a reminder that we are stronger together.
