COLLEGE MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
How does a first-generation college student and teen mother become a leader in many campus organizations, graduate magna cum laude, and earn the title of Ms. University at her university?
As a highly requested college motivational speaker, I share my personal story and success strategies with college students to help them become more resilient leaders of organizations and their own lives. Through my programs, I introduce students to an effective framework and mindset for overcoming any challenge. Students learn how to stay committed and motivated and not quit when life happens.
As a former student leader and creator and professor of a life skills course that I was requested to create using my own story, your students will remember and use what I teach them. Whether for a keynote, workshop, or series, bring me in for lasting impact for your: New Student Orientation/First Year Experience, Leadership Development, Fraternity/Sorority Life, Honors, Womens, Black History Month Programs or any situation with students who you want to see succeed in spite of their challenges.

The New Student Blueprint for Success: Design Your College Journey for a Strong Finish No Matter How You Start
Maybe you’ve defied the odds and made it to college.
Maybe you’re the first in your family to do it.
Some say, it’s not how you start but how you finish.
What’s rarely said, though, is how you start can determine IF you finish. Starting something new for some is fun and exciting. For others it may be frightening and intimidating. But for all it is new and unknown. Some of the biggest barriers to success students face involve bringing old habits into a new environment, not understanding how established ideas might inhibit success, or simply not knowing what steps to take to stand out and make the most of their college experience.
In this program, Summer helps students focus on beginning their college career with the end in mind. She shares the key actions students should take when they start college or a new school year to exceed even their own expectations for college completion and success in careers and in life.
Audience members will…
- Assess their past behavior to determine the actions to start, stop, and continue in order to succeed in college
- Be motivated to get involved in and leverage student leadership and engagement for personal, academic, and career success
- Understand how to leverage resources to help them achieve their goals
- Develop practical ways to maximize their potential and the opportunities of their college experience for completion and lifelong connection and impact

Fear, Failure, and Rejection: Turning Setbacks into Success
What would you do if fear was not factor? If you hadn’t felt the pain of failure or rejection?
One thing all people have in common is that in some point in our lives we will experience fear, failure, and rejection. So it’s normal and natural, but it is also painful and can be stifling holding you back from trying or going after what you really want in life.
However, the most successful people in life have likely experienced the most fear. They have failed a lot because they’ve tried a lot, and they have undoubtedly experienced rejection on levels most people can’t handle.
