It’s funny when you meet someone who has “known” you for 20 years.

Because I’m on a mission to impact as many youth and young adults as possible with the S.O. What! Literacy, Life Skills, and Character Education Curriculum, I am always connecting with educators.

When I sent a connection request on LinkedIn to Marcus Heaston, I had no idea that he was the brother of Mia Heaston. Mia was a sweet student at the University of Memphis with me, and Marcus let me know that she had mentioned me to him way back then.

And he remembered my name.

Today, Marcus Heaston is an amazing leader of a school district with an incredible story of resilience.
